Lifmunk effigies have been a point of confusion among players, particularly in version 0.1.4.0 of the game. Contrary to common belief, these effigies do not influence your actual catch rate. The misconception arises from the fact that as your effigy level increases, so does your visual capture rate, which is the rate displayed when preparing to throw a ball at a Palworld Pal. However, behind the scenes, the actual catch rate remains unaffected. This leads to a discrepancy where the visual capture rate appears higher than the actual catch rate, especially at higher effigy levels.

In an effort to demystify the impact of Lifmunk effigies, extensive testing was conducted using a standardized method. One hundred blue spheres were thrown at level 1 Lamball, Cattiva, and Chikipi, all having the same displayed capture rate. These tests were repeated eight times, maintaining consistency by rolling back to the same save each time. The cumulative results revealed no significant correlation between Lifmunk effigy level and the actual capture rate:

- Effigy level 0/10 (displayed capture chance 33%): 131 captures out of 300 attempts (43.6%)

- Effigy level 5/10 (displayed capture chance 44%): 90 captures out of 200 attempts (45%)

- Effigy level 10/10 (displayed capture chance 57%): 135 captures out of 300 attempts (45%)

- Overall: 356 captures out of 800 attempts (44.5%)

Several insights can be gleaned from this data. Firstly, Lifmunk effigies do not exert a meaningful influence on the actual catch rate, falling within the margin of error. Secondly, the displayed capture rate is inaccurate at lower effigy levels, being approximately 1.33 times the actual capture rate at 0/10 effigy level, and around 0.77 times at 10/10 effigy level. Lastly, for players seeking an accurate capture rate, leveling effigies to 5/10 appears to provide the most reliable results, based on additional tests with different balls and higher-level Pals.

In conclusion, there persists a bug regarding Lifmunk effigies in the game, as they fail to confer the intended bonus. Given their simultaneous impact on the visual capture rate, this renders the displayed capture rate often inaccurate. For players aiming for precision, leveling effigies to 5/10 currently offers the most accurate depiction of the capture rate. However, for those who have already maxed out their effigies to level 10, a simple adjustment by multiplying the displayed capture rate by 0.77 provides a reasonable estimate of the actual catch rate, ensuring a smoother gameplay experience.
