4 Franchise Immersion Wishlist About Madden 23

Jul-22-2022 PST Category: Madden 23

1. Do we have the chance to see real football positions at last or at the very least as an option in online or offline CFMs?

There's no reason to place "WR1" at the top of our "WR1" in the middle of the "WR" diagram, rather than being able to identify actual WR positions.

Q (Quarterback)

B T (Halfbacks Fullbacks)

X (Mostly the back-side WR)

A A / H (Mostly Slot WRs and Halfbacks)

It's Y (Mostly TEs)

Z (Mostly play-side WR)

LT , LG, C / RG/RT

Play calls will automatically change which WRs are lined up to ensure that you don't need to perform silly package changes or formation subs in order to make sure your top WR to remain the "X" WR. It also allows for customizing since some systems employ "F" as an option to wideout instead of Z or A.

Fronts (30 40, 50, 30)

SE (Strong-side End/Edge)

(Nose Tackle) (Nose Tackle)

T (Defensive Tackle)

WE (Weak-side End/Edge)

Sam (Strong-side Linebacker)

Mike (Middle Linebacker)

Will (Weak-side Linebacker)

Star / Rover Star / Rover Nickle (Strong-Safety / Nickle Cornerback)

SCB (Strong-side CB) *if the team opts to go with certain WRs*

The WCB (Weak-side CB) *if the team opts to go with certain WRs*

The FS (Free Safety)

"Auto defensive flip" isn't an option in Madden because , with the correct defensive positions, your team would align in the correct positions based on the offensive line-up. Offense is shown when you play Twins Left? Then your Sam is aligned with the side that is stronger in the formation, and your Will lies on the opposing side, in the proper positions.

In the next step, you can add to your play-calling by adding different security checks.

This could also greatly enhance the free agent process since it would cut out from the nonsense "OLB/DE" junk that has have plagued Madden for decades.

2. One thing I've always wanted or needed in football games (*Madden*) is the fundamental basis of football knowledge incorporated into the game. Gaps/Assignments/Football logic. At present the athletes on the field sort of do their thing without thinking about it because they lack a real-time concept of what they ought to perform on the field throughout the day. There isn't a real front for defense and DL do not have specific duties or roles that they each perform.

They simply move forward and stop when they feel like it , based on their ratings (or when they are holding turbo.. LOL). What is needed to be implemented and taught to all players is the actual soccer assignments and the roles at every position.

What is an technique that is 0? 3-technique? 1-gap/2-gap defense. Learn the steps to use for LBs. Backpedaling DBs who follow their technique and coverage assignment , and reacting to concepts or routes rather than the AI that is underneath understanding what the offense is moving and sprinting to man assignments. OL should be able to assign assignments in accordance with the defensive look and front.

Madden was the first game to feature create-a play and, in that mode you could use a grid to connect the locations you wanted players be before snapping and what you required them to do post-snap. EA should implement that behind-the-scenes for football-specific assignments. Every defensive play should come with an established fronts/alignments vs different offensive configurations, and the possibility of changing them manually, either on the play-call screen or in pre-snap. It should be a tiered play-calling system that allows you to set the front and then announce the coverage. Coverages must also offer more options. Madden at present is simply creating plays as fast as you can prior to the offensive team takes the ball. Why is this instead of having a variety of coverage options included in defensive playbooks? offer better options to snap the ball, such as communicating to your defense the reason you think the offensive objective is, or pinpointing one particular player to use for your DBs.

If the game was based on the fundamentals of football in place there wouldn't be so many bizarre actions and plays made generated by the AI. In the moment the AI is a bit flitting through trying to decide what they should do prior to and following the point where their initial script plays out. OL aren't sure whom to block since they don't have any assignments so they block who is in front of them. What's the most common way to play that involve OL doing something different than straight? Trap, power, counter. Counter, I'm guessing, isn't that advanced.

3. The system of progression in Madden is the most ineffective type of progression system in a game of sports. In real life, people do not follow the exact same time frame in terms of how fast or easy they progress or become worse. Every person who plays in the NFL is on a totally different timeline in terms of their progress and decline in the league. Every single player in Madden must have their individual (HIDDEN) progression and regression schedule. There are other variables that could impact their progression and the time frame of their regression like injuries, production and morale.

However, since we probably won't see a total overhaul of the game, the smallest we can hope for is an adjustment slider that could be used to gauge how much of a negative impact regression has on players.

4. Stadium Atmosphere

The weather conditions are almost impossible to find in the Next Gen football game made by a billion-dollar corporation in 2022. That's crazy.

Weather in this game appears to be created in the year 2010.

Crowd noise requires a total overhaul. The crowd's reactions to any type of game on the field must be heard.

Refs/Chain Gang... Don't think I'm required to elaborate on this.
